New Jersey’s Premiere Forum

Benefits

Rediscovering Inspiration
As a design industry professional, your creative resources are tapped continuously. You are called upon daily to generate new ideas, reinvigorate old concepts, and mesh a profusion of diverse themes into cohesive and aesthetic visual communications. While most of us thrive on the stimulation of a creativity-based career, even the most motivated professionals can benefit from interaction with their peers.

The ADCNJ provides a forum for art directors to meet and exchange ideas on an informal basis and to develop ongoing relationships with other professionals—such as photographers, illustrators and art educators—who share many of the same experiences and challenges.

ADCNJ members enrich their talents through association with their colleagues.

Enhancing Professional Education
ADCNJ members are invited to attend a dinner meeting at which a featured speaker discusses a topic of interest to those in the business of design. Speakers, drawn from the highest levels of the industry, address such timely subjects as new technology, coming trends, and the pursuit of design excellence.

ADCNJ members supplement their knowledge through continuous exposure to the world of design.

Achieving Recognition
Each spring, ADCNJ hosts its Annual Awards Exhibition, known throughout the region as one of New Jersey's most prestigious design competitions and showcases. The completed exhibition, which regularly draws more than 1,000 entries, is centered around a different and unique theme each year. While the competition is open to both members and non-members, ADCNJ members receive substantial discounts on entry and hanging fees.

ADCNJ members demonstrate the quality of their work and save on the cost of publicity.

Accessing Information
ADCNJ produces and distributes to its membership a newsletter containing timely information on a variety of subjects of value to design professionals. Inside the pages of this dynamic publication, members can fine current design news, computer-and-software-related tips and tricks, editorials and opinions and updates on the Club's activities. In addition, the newsletter provides both an opportunity for advertising products and services and free classified ads for members.

The ADCNJ Membership Directory, distributed annually to each Club member, lists current information about Club members and the work they do. The Directory is a powerful resource for finding designers, associates and vendors who adhere to the highest standards of design excellence.

ADCNJ members stay current on issues and information vital to design professionals.

Reducing the Cost of Continuing Education
ADCNJ members can take advantage of a wide range of educational opportunities at reduced fees. The Association of Graphic Communications (AGC), one of the industry's premiere providers of graphic communication education and training, extends a 15% discount to ADCNJ members who enroll in their programs.

ADCNJ members have easy access to affordable continuing education.

Empowering the Next Generation
Established in 1966, the ADCNJ Scholarship Program has awarded thousands of scholarship dollars to promising college students studying visual communications in New Jersey. As a part of its outreach program, the Club's Education Council sponsors college seminars, career days, art competitions and portfolio reviews to foster the advancement of the next generation of design professionals. The Education Council also oversees the contribution of funds to New Jersey colleges for equipment purchases, and maintains an ongoing involvement with the development of college-level art curriculums.

ADCNJ members help talented individuals advance successfully into design careers.
